101 Women of Hope 2011

WOW.. where do I start..before I get into the goods I just wanted to let everyone know that my blog is basically a little bit of EVERYTHING... For the most I will blog about "my first experiences and adventures" . So on that note if your interested lets get into it.

This year 101 Women of Hope decided to volunteer at KIPP DC Douglas Rd SE. Since my oldest daughter attends KIPP DC Benning Rd SE I knew right away I wanted to be apart of this movement. Anything positive empowering woman and supporting kids Im all for it.. SIGN ME UP..LOL... Ok before I get into the dets about my day here are a couple picture from the Meet and Greet held last night at UnionTown Bar and Grill located on Martin Luther King Ave, SE DC. Nice spot I must say.. I will make my way back real soon..

Ok now on to the GOOD GOOD.. I had the pleasure of working with the Pre K (ages 3 &4 yrs old) in Discovery. Discovery is the school for the younger students which is located on the KIPP campus. Mr. Davenport teaches PE /GYM. He was excellent with the students. If you don't know 3 and 4 yr olds can be a hand full with a ball of energy..He is soooo patient and kind with them and I can tell by just being there one day those kids love being in his class. I have a 2 and 10 yr old and my patience is SHOT...lol well not completely but its getting there. After today watching him in action first hand I totally have a higher respect for teachers. . I agree for sure teachers should be 1 of the highest paid professions in the world. 101 Women of Hope is an awesome organization and I will def be apart of many more functions to come.
